Find or hide Predictive Text on iPad (iOS 9) Temporarily

Predictive text is a great way to save time and energy while you are typing long messages. Predictive text prompts you with possible suggestions as to what you should or would like to type in next. But it can drive you nuts when it does not predict correctly!! You can turn it off temporarily….

Step #1. Open an email or another app that uses text on your iPad.

Step #2. Tap on the blank space to type.

When the keyboard appears on your iPad’s screen, you can see a gray bar on which you will find suggested predictive text.

Step #3. Put your finger on the gray bar and swipe down.

If you can’t see the grey bar with the predictive text, it is probably already minimized. You should see a tiny white line or bar just above the Y, swipe that up to get the predictive text.

Reader mode in Safari – remove distractions and enlarge print

When you are reading a website in Safari, you can choose to see only the text,  eliminating the distracting content – tap on the line-style icon in the left corner of the URL bar. You will get a single column of easy-to-read words. If you want to go back to the original webpage, just tap the icon again.
