Search Feature in iPad mail app

Did you know the Mail app for iOS has a Search feature?

You can use it to search by any word, name, or term, and it’ll search all inboxes or a specific inbox to quickly find any email by the provided search terms.

Here’s how to access the hidden Search functionality:

Open the Mail app on the iPhone or iPad

Swipe Down

From the primary inbox view, swipe or pull down on a message, this will reveal the hidden “Search” box

Tap into the “Search” field

Tap in Search Field
Type in Search Word

Type in the Search box a name, email address, term, phrase, word, date, to search emails for matches

Any emails that match the term you searched for will show up in the list below. In the example above we searched an inbox for the word “turkey” and found a handful of emails that showed to match that word.

The Mail search feature in iOS is fast and should turn up emails that match your search terms quickly, though the speed may depend on your iOS devices age as well as the internet connection, and possibly even the email accounts being used.

Have you ever wanted to scan a webpage for a word or phrase…Here is a quick trick!

Step #1. Tap on the Safari icon from the Home Screen on your iPad.

Step #2. Type in the site name you want to browse on your Safari address/search bar, and it will open to the page.

Step #3. Tap in the address/search bar again.

Step #4. Start typing a word or phrase you want to find on the webpage.

Step #5. The moment you type in a word/phrase, you will get three different results: Google Search, Bookmarks and History, and On This Page. (Hide the keyboard so you can scroll down and see all the options)

Step #6. The last one, ON THIS PAGE, is the result you are looking for.

Step #7. Under ON THIS PAGE, tap on the Find “Word.”

Step #8. You can now see the webpage you were browsing; the first ‘word” found is highlighted in yellow.  At the bottom left, there are two navigation arrows so you can search for the word in the rest of the article.

Step #9. Tap on the right navigation arrow to find the word or phrase you were looking.for.

Step #10. Once you are done, tap on “Done” at the bottom right.

Note: Please ensure that after typing a word or phrase in the address bar, do not press ‘Go’ button on the keyboard. This will take you to the search results.
