#1. Use Split View and Slide Over in iOS 11 on iPad
Just like before, Split View allows you to place two apps side-by-side. However, it’s become more smooth-sailing and functional. For instance, you can easily activate Split View and control apps more efficiently.
To enable Split View, simply open the first app and then pull up the Dock by swiping up from the bottom of the screen. Then you need to drag the app you wish to use on the left or right side of the screen. (Earlier you had to open the first app and then go on with the side of the screen swiping to enter Split View.)
Now, you will see a Slide Over window with the new app placed on top of the already opened one. Unlike before, you can now interact with Slide Over app and active app at once. That means no longer need to constantly open and quit Slide Over app.
Move the Slide Over panel to either side of the screen to comfortably interact with apps. Just tap and hold in the top middle part of the secondary app and drag it to left or right.
You can also turn on the Slide Over panel into a main Split View screen.
To do so, simply drag down on the top edit handle to bring the app into Split View mode.
Then, you need to adjust the vertical edit handle to change the ratio of either panel.
#2. Swap apps in Split View
To swap out different apps, all you need to do is swipe up from the bottom of the screen to bring up the Dock and then drag the app you want to use on the already opened one.
#3. Remove Slide Over Panel
To remove Slide Over panel, simply swipe to the left or right on the screen. As it will remain on that side of the screen, you will be able to slide it back.
#4. Remove Slide Over App
To remove slide over an app, just swipe right over it. That’s as easy as it can ever get.
